This book was the conclusion to the Horizon series I didn t mind the author s writing style She kept all the details from the other books and made sense of everything I thought it acked depth into the characters I guess by book 7 the characters are established but their thoughts and feelings were uite superficial I iked the events in Life Raft There just weren t a ot of events that took place The climax felt kind of anti climatic They ve been going to this destination for 6 books and now that they made it and it was kind of not disappointing but just uneventful This book wasn t a huge page turner All the other books I had read in a day or two this book took me The GI Bride literally a month cause I was just kind ofike literally a month cause I was just kind of ike I l get around to it I ike how it ended and what was at the end of their journey but I just think so much could have been done with it Highly anticipated and ended the series very well Boo When I started this series it was so promising In my review of 1 I said I hoped it wouldn t tank #like the TV show Lost with which it shares some thematic elementsIt tanked This short #the TV show Lost with which it shares some thematic elementsIt tanked This short end to the series is almost comical in it s simplicity and ack of suspense Ratscalibur lack of story developmentack of character development It seems The Million Dollar Goal (The Million Dollar Series, like whoever was in charge said wrap it up we have to move on So she didThrow in a few words that no middle schooler will ever know nictitating really and some social justice commentary which seemed totally out of place but maybe met some publishing reuirement would they even be accepted back in their country when people already suffered for being different for their religious beliefs or the color of their skin for being immigrants for their gender foroving who they The Selected Poems loved and the whole thing unfortunately just falls completely flat To start this book has been confusion for me When Scott Westerfeld originally announced he was going to be a part of this series it was going to have 7 books Now I do believe this is the conclusion of the series As another reviewer stated the inside jacket cover says her mind bending expertise to this gripping conclusion to the Horizon seriesI RARELY give a book 1 star but I can honestly say I did notike this book I was actually very devastated by this ending it s one of the worst endings to a series I ve ever read I was shocked I actually disliked it because eading up to this point I have given every book in the series 4 or 5 stars To me it got better with each book This conclusion was a huge disappointment It s only 150 pages it takes place over the span of one day Everything is SO rushed We are not given all of the answers to the uestions built up the first 4 books We are given one basic answer and that s supposed to magically explain everything it does notIt honestly reads as if this author didn t keep up with reads as if this author didn t keep up with plot points of those before her There was some serious plot holes in this one view spoiler In book 2 a character named Oliver dies and yet somehow comes back to ife The kids see Oliver again My Jihad: The True Story of An American Mujahid's Amazing Journey from Usama Bin Laden's Training Camps to Counterterrorism with the FBI and CIA later reanimated by a robot He promises he will see them at the spires In this book however when they reach the spire Oliver does not appear and we are not given an explanation as to wh. S passed and I have reread all of them they are still as Enjoyable Now As They now as they then When reading the ast book in the series Liferaft I was not disappointed with the writing I can imagine it was difficult as a new author of the story to wrap up an entire five book was difficult as a new author of the story to wrap up an entire five book that she had no hand in writing previously With this being said the end was not what I was expecting In my theories I thought the kids were somehow chosen by a team of scientists or higher beings to be put through a series of rigorous testing Through the whole series I imagined a Hunger Games x Maze Runner plot with these characters going through an experiment of some sort However with the introduction of the alien I was shocked and a Nine Ghosts little doubtful I had a difficult time accepting the explanation of the rift Supposedly the biomes were created due to an alien crashanding in the artic Only one extraterrestrial survived but the intelligent technology of the ship created a copy of the alien s home planet all around the ship Over hundreds of years this environment flourished and protected the ship from any threat or danger in the form of robots However the ship also seeks intelligent ife to repair itself So that is why the kids were chosen and survived But since the aircraft Was Meant To Seek meant to seek but also protect itself from intruders the two variables opposed one another creating a deadly combination of alien technology All of these explanations given to the reader make coherent sense even though it is not exactly the resolution I wanted or expected The wrap up seemed hasty I wish the book was engthened or another was written describing the alien its home its intent and a fuller detailed explanation of the rift itself I can t seem to understand why all of the characters were chosen The ship seemed fairly easy to repair considering the robots and mites could have done it all along The only thing the kids really did was wake up the alien I think another book describing the technology of the ship and having the kids repair it would be much satisfactory Even so I feel شرح جامع مثنوى معنوى like so much was condensed and glazed over I understand the author trying to cut out unnecessary detail to fit all the new information into one book but if you do not have the intent to write another book at the veryeast you can give a sufficient explanation of the rift which answers all the reader s uestions from the previous books I do not want to seem The New Song: For the Sunday School, Societies of Christian Endeavor, and Other Religious Exercises (Classic Reprint) like I have so many bad things to say about this book I didove the amount of Anna chapters seeing she is my favorite character and I felt she did not get enough time in the rest of the series I really do enjoy the series as a whole but I wish time was spent on the explanation and resolution of the story All in all these books will always be a part of my childhood and youth that I spent much time on Taking all of this into account I would in fact recommend this series This is the final book in a series I absolutely Riding Hard lovedbut this one not so much There were things hinted about in previous books that didn t come to pass The ending seemed very rushedike the author was Arabian Challenge limited on pages but this one is shorter than the others All in all I was rather disappointe. Nswers to their ordeal and perhaps a way homeHere the survivors will finallyearn the truth behind the rift And here they'll encounter a monster far deadlier than anything they've faced ye. At happened to him We re told he died um we knew that already but the children seeing him again is never explained This Bothered Me So Much bothered me so much the previous author had an idea there that this author just ignored hide spoiler I avidly enjoyed the first four books in this series despite being rather older than the target demographic The vivid characterization exciting action seuences and sharp writing kept me interested as the characters adapted and overcame their ever increasing ist of challenges in the mys This book gets two stars because it concluded the Horizon series and it should have been climactically amazing I was compelled to read this book because I had read the previous books in the series and I had to have a spectacular ending Unfortunately a two star story is what I was given It was pretty dull The writing was ifeless There was no engagement with me the reader My favorite character Anna ended up in some sort of Twilight esue infatuation with Yoshi she couldn t ever have imagined holding Yoshi s hand and telling him something so close to her heart BarfThe characters make their way through the rift and voila Bizarre explanations for everything and then the main characters pretty "much make it back home Well not all of themIn the end each of the survivors earns inexplicable prizes and "make it back home Well not all of themIn the end each of the survivors earns inexplicable prizes and remaining Cub Tones who unfortunately eaped forward in time get to visit any of their old friends who may still be ILLERAMMA Kathalu living in their nursing homesThe pathetic ending to an otherwise captivating series ironically ends And that was the best that anyone could ask for I don t think soI thought that this series was really going to go somewhere when I first started reading it Whoever was masterminding the enterprise gotost half way through and couldn t recover I really wanted to be able to recommend the series to my 5th graders but now I will guide them elsewhere so that they don t waste their time Apologies to the earlier authors who trailblazed the initial path That felt a bit rushed at the end and I guess I should have seen certain things coming but all in all it feels American Literature Student Text like a bit of aet down I m glad that I read this series and I will recommend it but all in all I wonder if I would have Cheyenne: A Sweet Historical Romance liked it even if there hadn t been such a huge gap between when I read the 4th book and this one This was amazing The answers were great but the only thing I m confused about is that in Deadzone robot Oliver said they would see him at the spires and normal Oliver came back for a few seconds but this said he was dead Considering this is theast book in the series I believe a full review is in order I started this series when I was a middle schooler in seventh grade and had to patiently wait for each book release Now that I am a freshman in high school I can see how I have outgrown the target audience Even so I can t say I was ever disappointed with the series This series is for young adults but safe for younger kids as well Unlike most YA novels there is no unsuitable themes or elements making the books appropriate for younger middle school kids along with the usual YA audience The first four books and authors were enjoyable in my first read Now that time ha.
